Yubl, a social media and instant messaging company, wanted to implement interactive content creation tools for brands on their platform. Fluxus was brought on to develop this. Together, the teams conceived the Web Tool, a content system for brands that included complex scheduling and publishing functions.

The Web Tool had to be a robust CMS solution, with added features that would make it ideal for advertising. Both teams formed lists of what these features would need to be, with the most important being prioritized in the workflow. These included permissions controls, approval processes, post scheduling, multimedia upload options, composition tools, and more.

The development utilized Drupal for its CMS capabilities, integrated with a Jenkins build, and perfoming automated functional testing with Jasmine and unit/BDD tests with PHPUnit. The goal here was to continuously deliver features with a master branch that was always able to be deployed.  The project took place in-house, with Fluxus and Yubl’s teams collaborating closely all throughout the process.

The initial version of the Web Tool was ready in one month, allowing for sponsor recruitment and fine-tuning ahead of launch. The Web Tool was able to be part of the Yubl experience from launch onward, which was a great benefit for brands, allowing them to get on the app and interact with users from day 1.
