TrueDigital is part of the True Corporation, a leading Telecommunications conglomerate in Thailand. As part of an expansion strategy, they wanted to create an editorial User Generated Content platform, and recruited Fluxus to lead the project team.

As the scope of this project was potentially very large, our team developed an initial iteration to test the concept. The core requirements were scalability without major refactoring of technology, as well as providing creator logins and editorial workflow options. This had to be done in a way that could be developed and updated quickly. The platform was built on a multi-cloud configuration between AWS and GCP, integrating Drupal for content management and using a React-based front-end. The preliminary iteration, “OnScene”, went live after a month of development.

After this version, the platform had to be properly embedded into the True ecosystem, which needed a single-sign-on, as well as integration with media platform TrueID. The project was also rebranded as TrueID In-Trend, a citizen journalism platform that provided small financial incentives to creators for posting.

After developing the platform, the focus turned to content moderation, with the development team integrating more AWS managed services to aid in this, as well as introducing custom-built AI moderation functions when the user base became too large to be covered by human moderators. This allowed for much lower costs in this department, and the platform itself was a success, growing in excess of a million users.
