RawPixel is an online stock image provider, who started out selling original content to large established providers such as iStock. To keep control over revenue through subscriptions and ensure credit for their original work, they contracted Fluxus to build them their own platform.
Using AWS Serverless, Fluxus built a system that combined a number of AWS managed services and several third-party services to solve specific needs. A critical service used in this build was ElasticSearch, which allowed for easy tagging and cataloguing of a 17-terabyte media library. Additionally, image manipulation and conversion functions of AWS Lambda were used, as well as multiple other services for hosting, storage, and database needs.
Specific needs such as payment processing, subscription management, image processing, and tax invoicing were solved by third-party services Stripe, Recurly, IMGIX, and Taxamo respectively. These were able to be integrated without any issues thanks to the technical quality provided by AWS.
Fluxus’s developers are committed to developing your next platform in the most coordinated and efficient way, using the benefits of the AWS ecosystem and a decoupled microservices approach to architecture. Make sure your cloud development is taking full advantage of everything AWS has to offer.
