BMW Thailand’s Financial Services arm was approaching a digital transformation in 2019. The goal was to achieve greater sales and improve customer relations by “thinking digitally”. Fluxus was brought onto the project as a technical consulting partner, as well as providing a development team. Together, Fluxus and BMW Financial Services began to develop a plan to overhaul BMW’s customer-facing web presence.

Key goals on this project were increasing business intelligence, reducing reliance on paperwork, and creating a more personalized customer experience. A 6-month timeframe was adopted, the upcoming Thailand International Motor Expo 2019 acting as a deadline.

An “evolution not revolution” approach was applied, tailoring the existing sales website towards particular achievable goals, focusing on lead generation. To this end, leading messaging application LINE was also used, both for leads and for easier customer-business interaction. Improvement in BMW salespeople’s digital tools as well as the My BMW Awards program were prioritized for tweaks and innovation. Research was an integral part of the process, with each new feature and stage being routinely tested. Workshops with the BMW Financial Services staff were run regularly, and Fluxus led development through Agile.

The strategy also included a multi-channel marketing approach across Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, LINE, and custom landing pages to pre-qualify leads ahead of the Expo. This led to over 1,000 leads at the event, and the project overall resulted in a record regional sales year.
