BMW Thailand’s financial division, during a digital transformation, contracted Fluxus for needed technical skills and market knowledge. As part of an initiative to “think digitally”, targets of increasing sales and improving customer relationships were set.

An “evolution not revolution” approach was settled on for the customer-facing sales website, with key issues identified and goals focused towards lead generation. Fluxus was able to guide the overhaul development process towards selecting technologies that could both exceptionally fill needed gaps and be implemented quickly. A combination of Drupal CMS and MS CRM integrated with an AWS serverless architecture was able to do this. Additionally, instant messaging application LINE was leveraged as a new source of customer interaction, with the service’s “Official Accounts” feature providing automated information in response to messages.

As a key consultant to BMW Financial services during this process, Fluxus conducted regular research to best inform the process, rigorously testing each iteration of the redeveloped website. New insights based on feedback throughout the process were implemented, and internal workshops were run with the BMW staff to strengthen the project with an Agile approach. In addition, a Lean UX workshop was run to improver buyers’ journeys on the improved website.

The project was able to commit to a 6-month schedule, and alongside Fluxus running a multi-channel marketing campaign, was able to be used to pre-qualify sales leads ahead of the Thailand International Motor Expo 2019. With an improved customer experience and new sources of sales, this resulted in a record regional sales year, with BMW renewing their partnership with Fluxus into 2020.
